John R. Boyle is a talented and seasoned executive with thirty years of expertise and diverse experiences across multiple business sectors. He brings a wealth of expertise in particular strength areas such as scaling operations, turnaround, start-up, mergers and acquisitions, human capital and business strategy. With his deep international experience, John has a strong understanding of businesses and cultures of companies who compete globally.
Currently, John operates a private consulting firm, ConvergencyPartners, LLC which he founded in 2010. John serves as CEO and President. He has worked with more than 50 marquis companies ranging from small scale start-ups to mid- and large-sized corporations. He offers C-level strategic advisory and consulting services across an array of industries, including technology, software development, architecture, real estate, professional services and consumer products. John is responsible for spearheading performance and growth initiatives that have propelled the companies with whom he has worked to 40%+ compound annual growth. He has also partnered and managed numerous turnaround and mergers and acquisitions during his time with ConvergencyPartners. As CEO and President of Front Desk, Inc, John was instrumental in the turnaround of the company, a software-based SaaS start-up. At Front Desk, Inc, he decreased the workforce by 40%, rebalanced 80% of the talent, continued to grow the business 78% month over month, increased customer satisfaction 80%, and cut the financial burn in operations in half. All of these actions enabled the company to experience improved product-market-talent fit, and secure an additional round of venture capital investment.
Prior to serving as the CEO and President of Front Desk, Inc and ConvergencyPartners, LLC, he was the Chief Growth Officer and a Managing Partner for the Clarion Group, Ltd, a provider of management-based services. During his time there, he grew the business an average of 48% year over year through improvements in client service delivery and management, and new product and service innovation. Previous to this, John was the Senior Director of People and Organization Capability with Microsoft, responsible for developing services and tools that successfully helped to integrate Microsoft talent and businesses globally. Leading up to that, John served as a Director at IBM, responsible for IBM’s global internal consulting practice serving the top 300 global executives with strategy and human capital improvement services allowing IBM to leverage the power of its full capability across business groups and divisions. And, in advance of that, John served as the Senior Director of Organization Performance Measurement with Motorola, Inc., responsible for the design and implementation of initiatives aligned to Motorola’s Baldridge Award winning Performance Excellence initiative serving to improve company efficiency, productivity and overall performance. And, prior to this, he performed as an Organization Development Analyst with Altria (Philip Morris Companies). His public sector work includes a role with the United States Department of Labor in the Office of Personnel Management building and deploying software-based employment assessment systems matching the US workforce to available jobs.
In addition to his executive career, John has volunteered as an mentor for Boys Club in Norfolk, VA and served on the Board of The Montessori Children's House in Redmond, WA. He has produced pro-bono work with the Seattle University Albers School of Business and Finance to build their five-year strategy, and serves as a student mentor at the Albers School. John has also served as a mentor to a wide array of individuals, managers and executives who seek to improve their performance and grow their careers. Over 90% of those with whom John has mentored have benefited by opportunities for advancement.
Over the past fifteen years, John has established himself as a thought leader in the field of leadership, business performance, governance and growth. He has produced intellectual property that remains in use in several major organizations. John brings a rich history of transformational impact across industry sectors and sizes, leveraging a wide array of experience in strategy, culture and leadership to his role as a Chief Executive Officer. He is proficient in finding the core strengths of an organization and architecting and driving for scale and growth.
John has a Ph.D.(ABD) in Psychometrics from Fordham University, a M.A. in Industrial Psychology from Fairleigh Dickinson University and a B.A. in Psychology from Virginia Wesleyan College. He has completed company-sponsored executive MBA programs at Harvard University and The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania, and Organization Development programs at Columbia University.
